How to save...where to start!

I really am glad I did some research and took the time to call about my bills and save some money.  Without giving up a lot, I managed to save us about $120 per month.  This was just on utilities and monthly repeating bills.  This wasn't on groceries or anything else...yet!

I feel like there is a lot to talk about so I am going to break it down into parts.  Here is where we saved a good chuck and it isn't even included in the above number.  Back in January 2009 we refinanced our house...again!  But it made sense and saved money.  So maybe call a mortgage person and find out if it would be worth it.  I feel like if it saves money then it would be in the "worth it" category!   Jeff Morris is who helped us.

One great thing Jeff did for us was he mentioned that our homeowner's insurance yearly premium looked a little high.  He suggested that we check out AllState Insurance's rates, as they were what he just went with for his own insurance.  Well we saved $372 for the same coverage on our home.  We also switched our auto policy to AllState as well and saved $344.75 in a year.  That is almost $700 right there for the same coverage.  Holly Fong is our agent and she is great!  What I like about their auto policy is that they give me safe driver bonus every 6 months and send me a check for only about $35 but it is $35 I wasn't expecting that can be used for a little splurge.  Also, while you stay accident free over time then your deductible lowers.

Why do we blog?

It seems to be a girl thing don't you think?  I was trying to think the other day why sites like facebook and twitter are so popular...and with women.  I think it is...for me at least....because we say something, and someone is listening.  They may give advice or they may just laugh with us because they have been there too!  Especially with children and raising a family...and taking care of a husband.  Let's unite women and lift each other up!  All I have time for now because I gotta go do my stairs!!  Pics to follow!

OK, I really don't need to be doing this... I have enough to do....but I am going to anyways!  Hopefully some people will actually read it....LOL!  Anyone else just start a blog?  If so let me know....more later!  Off to design a logo for my photography company!
